Irma van Heumen (1965)

Illustrator and pattern designer based in The Netherlands.

I am a creative mind, mom of two grown up children, wife, daughter and dog mom of an adopted mini dachshund. 

All my life I have been creative in all sorts of ways. As a kid I was always most happy when receiving crayons, markers and a sketchbook as a gift. I loved all the colors. I wasn't really talented but loved the doodling and drawing what I saw. 

As an adult with a job and a family I found relaxation in scrapbooking, making minibooks and making greetingcards with ink and stamps. 

In 2018 I started drawing and watercoloring again and I started drawing op the ipad in Procreate. Although I love sketching and drawing on paper, drawing digitally opened a lot of doors for me. I followed a lot of lessons, courses and classes. This helped me to find my favorite topics to draw and to explore style and techniques. And I found out I absolutely love bold pastel colors. My favorite color is absolutely Pink!

My favorite topics are birds and flowers, moths and butterflies and I love drawing cute animals. 

I draw because it makes me happy and I hope I can make you happy with my illustrations too!
